While Greene County has several incorporated cities and towns, there are several unincorporated communities (i.e., no longer have elected officials or receive tax income). These communities often have post offices and are listed on modern maps. However, there are also many places that may have once had a post office or may have only been a stop along a rail line. Still other communities may only be historic settlements that once existed, but have since been forgotten or are only known to local residents and historians. Regardless, we have provided a brief description and the location of these places to further help visitors find and locate these communities.
